Chelsea take on London rivals West Ham later on today and the last time the two sides met, Andriy Yarmolenko scored a last gasp winner.

Former Chelsea coach Michael Beale hopes Declan Rice returns to the club and proves them wrong for releasing him when he was 14.

Beale couched the now West Ham superstar during his youth days at Chelsea.

Speaking to The Athletic, Beale said: “It’s very rare that a boy leaves and goes on to make the club wish they had him and I think that’s the scenario Chelsea are facing now.

“They let a boy go, he’s gone away and really kicked on.

“It’s worked out for Declan in the long term and if he goes back to Chelsea that would be amazing.”

Blues defender Kurt Zouma is confident ahead of today’s game and believes the team can get the job done.

He told Chelsea’s official website: “It’s a difficult season because there are so many games to play in a short period of time, so it was nice to switch off a little bit.

“But we have a big squad and we have to be ready, especially with the two last games we lost. We have to bounce back.

“There is no other solution, no other way. We have to win on Monday.

“We know it will be tough. West Ham are playing good at the minute, they have had some great results, but we have to be ready for that.

“We are confident. We are playing at home, unfortunately, there won’t be fans but let’s do our job.

“We will fight for the three points, that’s it. There is no stress in the team, everyone is still confident, and we are going to win this game.”
